If you are looking for safe, wireless way, to trigger your older off-camera analog flash, this could be the solution. This optical sensor accepts a maximum trigger voltage of 100V DC.
Please note that this sensor will NOT fire Canon EX models.
The sensor has a female pc (Prontor Compur) socket to enable connection to your flash directly. It can also be mounted on a male pc to hot shoe adapter.
The approximate range is about 75 ft (22m) or more, depending on the guide number of the Master flash.
This slave will fire your remote flash once light is received from the on-camera master flash. It is not generally affected by daylight and requires no additional power.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
1. Any optical slave can be fooled into early triggering if your Master flash produces a pre-flash for red-eye reduction, for example. In many cases, this pre-flash can be turned off, thereby avoiding the problem.
2. This Sonia sensor is designed to work with a wide range of older model analog and most modern digital flashes, including the Canon EZ series.
